"We talk of the Second Coming (of Christ); half the world has never heard of the first." ~ Oswald J. Smith
We are thrilled to be home again in Thailand. I am reminded of our excitement when we first came to Thailand in January 1986. Though many years have passed, the need for the gospel is as great as ever. Statistically, Christianity in Thailand is growing at a slower rate than the population so there is still much to be done.
Since getting back to Phuket we have found a house, moved in and once again started having church meetings in our home. We are centrally located in our community and see great potential for new outreach. In addition to our church meetings here, we are also meeting through the week in homes for Bible studies. We have recently been invited to begin having Bible studies in another friend's house. This will open up a new neighborhood for the gospel.
Also, please be in prayer for one of our new Thai friends. Her name is Ganittha and she has expressed a strong interest to learn about Jesus. Two years ago her husband died of cancer and she has a 3 year old daughter. Joy and I have started having Bible studies with her and we look forward to seeing her soon put her trust in Christ.
Thanks for your continued prayers concerning our Thai visas. I have already renewed my work-permit and the paperwork for our one-year visas is being processed. We should have those in hand before the end of this month.
Once again I see clearly one of my chief motivations for being a missionary in Thailand. While many people in America are hearing the gospel over and over again, most of the rest of the world is still waiting to hear it for the first time. Thank you so much for joining hands together with us to reach Thailand with the good news of Jesus.
Yours for Thailand
